22nd Annual Shoals Area Special Olympics Golf Tournament Rescheduled Due to COVID-19 Pandemic

(FLORENCE, AL)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers of the 22nd Annual Shoals Area Special Olympic Charity Golf Tournament decided to reschedule the event. Originally planned for April 27, 2020 the new date will be June 8, 2020 at Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club in Killen, Alabama.

“The health and safety of everyone associated with the tournament is and will continue to be our number one priority,” said Douglas Ruggles, Tournament Chair. “We have many sponsors and players that travel in for the event, so our country’s current travel and social distancing recommendations make it challenging for them to attend. Plus, we aren’t sure how long the COVID-19 restrictions will be in place. We hope that by early June all will be well and groups will be able to gather again – especially for good causes that help non-profit organizations.”   

For those who have already paid and cannot attend the new June 8 date, refund requests can be made by contacting Jill Woodford at jnwoodford@martinsupply.com.

Teams who cannot play can elect to donate their team registration in exchange for recognition at the event.
