28th Annual Shoals Area Charity Golf Tournament Raises $58,500 to Support Local Special Olympics Programs

Florence, AL

The 28th Annual Shoals Area Charity Golf Tournament once again brought the community together in support of local Special Olympics and special needs programs, raising a total of $58,500 during this year’s event.

Held at Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club, the tournament welcomed golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and community supporters from across the Shoals area for a day focused on giving back and making a lasting impact on the lives of local athletes and students.

Funds raised from the tournament help support a wide range of initiatives throughout the Shoals area, including local Special Olympics programs, special education classrooms, adaptive recreational opportunities, and other activities that benefit individuals with special needs.

“Thank you for all of your support,” said Douglas Ruggles, Co-CEO of Martin Supply. “This tournament continues to be one of the premier fundraising events supporting our local Special Olympics and special needs population. Because of the incredible support from our sponsors, participants, and volunteers, we’re able to provide funding that impacts special education classrooms and adaptive programs throughout the Shoals area. We couldn’t do it without the community coming together each year.”

The Shoals Area Charity Golf Tournament has become a meaningful tradition within the community, helping provide resources, opportunities, and support for local athletes and individuals with special needs while continuing to strengthen awareness and involvement across the region.
