Problem

The customer was using gloves at a very high rate. Employees were throwing away gloves that were still functional but had gotten dirty.

Solution

Martin came in and assessed the situation. It was determined that the right gloves were being used for the application, but the gloves were filthy after a day of work. To save the customer money Martin implemented a glove laundering operation.

Results

Gloves could be laundered 3-8 times per pair. In the process, there was no shrinkage and the gloves were actually more comfortable after they were washed. The price for having them laundered vs new was 94% lower, and Martin cleans over 2,000 pairs per month. This cost savings for this project is $96,900 annually.
