The Challenge

Martin’s customer, a company with three factories engaged in refining, converting, and packaging finished goods, faced a pressing issue concerning glove usage. They were employing cotton canvas gloves for their operations, with approximately 600 employees across the three factories relying on these gloves to perform their tasks. In 2018, the annual glove usage skyrocketed to 434,700 pairs, costing the company over $190,000 annually. Recognizing the need for a more cost-effective and efficient solution, the customer sought alternatives to their existing glove selection.

An Innovative Solution

To address the customer’s concerns and optimize their glove usage, Martin conducted a comprehensive site survey. After careful evaluation, we proposed switching to the MaxiFlex® Ultimate™ gloves as a high-quality alternative. To test the effectiveness of this change, we recommended a 60-day trial period in one of their three factories. Considering that their annual spending on cotton canvas gloves exceeded $190,000, this represented a substantial financial relief.

However, the strategic shift in glove selection proved that addressing the issue of excessive product consumption directly could yield far greater savings than a simple price adjustment.
